The Bloody Beginnings of Notting Hill Carnival
With Notting Hill Carnival set for this weekend, we have dedicated a special episode to its lesser known history. There is not enough time to feature all elements and characters of this story but hope there is enough to spark interest in your own investigation into Notting Hill's history and share it with future generations.
One of our archive episodes ‘The Windrush : The Unknown Truth’ is definitely worth a listen to after this episode, as it precedes and encompasses part of this point in history. However it doesn’t delve into the horrifically dark depths that melanated migrants had to endure in the United Kingdom at the very start of this era.
